NQX Philippines Partners with Taytay LGU to Advance Breastfeeding Awareness

NQX Philippines partners with Taytay LGU for a breastfeeding awareness initiative

NQX Philippines welcomed around 100 mothers and their babies from Taytay for a simultaneous breastfeeding activity, in celebration of National Breastfeeding Awareness Month.

Held in partnership with the Municipal Government of Taytay, this initiative was anchored on the theme “Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works,” which aims to highlight the importance of exclusive breastfeeding and the vital role that families, workplaces, and communities play in supporting mothers throughout their breastfeeding journey.

The one-minute simultaneous breastfeeding session, locally known as Sabayang Hakab, served as a meaningful demonstration of community support and acceptance for breastfeeding mothers. A breastfeeding awareness lecture, led by Rizal Mammas Founder Rosella Bianca Del Rosario, was also conducted to empower mothers with knowledge and practical guidance to breastfeeding.

In attendance during the program were Taytay Councilor John Tobit Cruz, Councilor Joanne Marie Calderon, and Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Emmanuoel Matela, who expressed their support for breastfeeding advocacy and maternal wellness. Representing NQX Philippines were Guy Neveu, Country Leader and Chief Financial Officer, and Karen Diane Llana, Vice President for Marketing and Communications, who shared messages of encouragement and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting mothers, families, and inclusive communities.

“At NQX, we believe that when families do well, communities do well too,” said Guy Nuveu. “We’re proud to support programs that help mothers, babies, and families stay healthy and strong. It is one way we bring to life our commitment to inclusion.”

For NQX, the partnership reflects its commitment to creating an inclusive and people-centered workplace. The company supports working parents through programs and benefits such as compensable lactation breaks, breastfeeding support programs, DOH-accredited lactation rooms, and expanded maternity and paternity leave, which is more the standard practice in the Philippines

NQX is also proud to be recognized as a Mother-Baby Friendly Workplace, reflecting its commitment to supporting employees throughout their parenting journey. This recognition is especially meaningful as women make up 54% of NQX’s workforce, representing nearly 2,900 employees across Naga, San Mateo, and Taytay.

By supporting parents and partnering with local communities, NQX continues to champion a workplace where parenthood is supported, and every family has the opportunity to thrive.
